Mitchie is invited by local news stations to perform LIVE/on-air in studio baking/decorating demonstrations. She is a recipient of the following awards and recognition: The AFCU Giveback Award, the Kernel of Kindness grant from Jolly Time Popcorn, nominated “Pastry Chef of the Year” by the Nevada Restaurant Association, and has recently been named a Dessert Professional Top Ten Cake Artist in North America.
Mitchie is a Sugar Angel and State Sponsor for Icing Smiles, Inc. Through the years she has also worked with local community groups & centers by donating her treats and time to teach children some fun edible projects. Mitchie is the Co-conspirator of Depressed Cake Shop Las Vegas; an annual pop-up bake sale raising funds and awareness for mental health. Overall – Mitchie is one of the happiest cake chicks you’ll ever meet. She possesses 30+ years’ experience from a hobby gone bananas into launching a successful business. Loves to learn, share, and make “artistic treats you can eat.”
ChefMitchie, originally from Atlantic City, NJ, is a self-taught pastry chef and cake/sugar artist. “I got all my ‘mad skillz’ while hiding under my Grandma’s kitchen table as a kid – well I HAD to hide, one incident involving peeling a carrot and stitches got me 86’ed!”
